Join us for our second Friends and Family Funding pitch event!

This event is Free and open to both RVC Members and the Public!

This event will take place in-person in Denver
(with a virtual Zoom option)

Before companies come to angel groups like RVC for venture funding, they typically raise between $10,000 and $250,000 in “friends and family money” contributed from friends and family, or from the founders themselves from savings, a second mortgage, credit cards, or other ways of getting capital to build prototypes, MVPs, and initial market testing.

There are many founders who are underserved by investors and do not have access to this sort of capital. These founders may be from rural areas, or they may be in other under-funded groups such as Black, Hispanic, or female founders. This means that it is extremely difficult for them to get started, much less look for angel funding, Series A or beyond.

With the help of the EDA, RVC is hosting the Friends and Family Funding Pitch Event on January 18th, 2023.  Founders who are Black, Hispanic, or otherwise underserved, should apply to pitch by following the link listed below. Founders will have access to, and are highly encouraged to attend, RVC’s Pitch Academy on January 9th to get ready.

As an investor attending this event, you'll have the opportunity to invest in these promising companies. Unlike a traditional RVC raise, there is opportunity to work directly with founders on your own investment terms. With the selected early stage companies, investments as little as thousands of dollars can make an substantial impact. Even if you are not a potential investor, RVC encourages you  to attend and support this new effort and promising entrepreneurs.

If you know of a company who may not be aware of the upcoming Friends and Family Funding Pitch Event, please share this opportunity!
