Rockies Venture Club (RVC) is a non-profit angel investing group based in Denver, Colorado. Our mission is to promote economic development by connecting investors and entrepreneurs through angel groups, networking, and education. As the longest running angel group in the U.S. (1985), with over 125 investor members, and +100 events a year, RVC prides itself on being a partner in developing diverse and robust entrepreneurial ecosystems.

How does someone learn how to be a successful Angel Investor? One path is to blindly invest hundreds of thousands of dollars and hope for the best. Much better is to learn the basics and be a part of a community where you can benefit from the “wisdom of crowds”. In this one hour condensed presentation, we’ll touch on how to “read” a pitch and not just get lured in by the entrepreneur’s excitement or an emotional hook; understanding that an exit strategy is paramount (as it is the only way an angel gets their money back!); tax implications - how can Angels take advantage of huge 100% tax breaks on capital gains; and more.

We’ll also provide a brief update on RVC’s efforts in Wyoming including the great progress with the Rockies Wyoming Fund.

So please join us for this free event that all members of Silicon Couloir are invited to. We’ll have snacks and beverages (it is at the Jackson Hole Winery after all). This is not a sales pitch to invest in any particular investment nor any sort high-pressure solicitation. It is a chance to learn, network, and help grow entrepreneurship.
