Demystifying Life Science Investing

Expert speakers, Life Sciences Company Pitches, Networking, and an Investor Forum

Life Sciences offer special opportunities for entrepreneurs and angel investors alike. There are huge markets in healthcare and the acquisition is often different and more robust than other industries as large companies often use acquisition as an R&D strategy.  At the same time, many life science companies have high technology risks and sometimes face costly and lengthy regulatory hurdles. For angel and VC investors, life science investments can be one of the most profitable sectors.

Attend Colorado Life Sciences Night to learn about startup and investment strategies in the Life Sciences. This event will feature a keynote from Jason Grimes, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Highpoint Ventures, pitches from innovative life sciences startups, great networking, and an RVC Investor Forum (for accredited investors).

Presenting Companies Include:

GelSana is engineering novel hydrogel wound dressings that will provide much needed new solutions for healing, with a particular focus on chronic wound healing. Our wound dressing hydrogels can stretch and conform across any wound, reduce inflammation through their polymer chemistry, prevent infection, and have the ability to provide sustained drug delivery over time. GelSana’s first commercial hydrogel, Cleragel™, will target diabetic wounds; initial testing on diabetic wounds in animals have shown substantially decreased healing time.  As an added benefit, in future products these gels can be formulated to deliver therapeutics in a sustained manner over time, eliminating the need to continually reopen the wound bed and reapply ointments. These hydrogels are anticipated to be a valuable tool to combat any wounds, especially those that are showing limited response to other healing solutions.

TissueForm aims to improve life for people affected by volumetric tissue loss through harnessing the natural, restorative power of tissue extracellular matrix. TissueForm is an early-stage life science company working to finalize product manufacturing and regulatory approval for a biomaterial that addresses clinical problems in reconstructive surgery and regenerative medicine. The flagship product, NatruDerme, is a biostimulatory and reversible dermal filler that closely mimics skin to promote healing.
