Noninvasix is developing a single parameter, noninvasive, continuous monitoring platform for central venous oxygen saturation, or ScvO2, an indicator of the severity of sepsis and septic shock. This technology looks to enable clinicians to diagnose and monitor the response to treatment of tissue hypoxia in real-time while aiming to displace existing sepsis monitoring systems using repeated blood samples. This advance in blood oxygen monitoring aims to reduce the frequency of invasive blood draws, improve clinician response times, reduce patient admission lengths for sepsis, and overall reduce the cost of sepsis for hospitals and patients.
