Rockies Venture Club
At the recent RVC Angel Investor Practicum, several investors were interested in having a detailed analysis of a Due Diligence report for a current open deal in play. The objective would be to hear the rationale for the sections in the report, and to hear other colleagues insights and questions.
During this virtual meeting, we will review the Due Diligence Report for Wander & Ivy, a single-serve organic wine venture. The report was written by Keiretsu, and offers a good example of Due Diligence materials that are part of syndication opportunities. The Keiretsu format starts with a section that is similar to the full RVC Due Diligence. Keiretsu includes supporting documentation in their typical report - materials that would be part of an RVC Data Room folder. Each section of the report will be analyzed for the clarity of risk identification and mitigation, completeness and accuracy. We will have Dana Spaulding, the company CEO on-line, Kevin Kudra, leader of the RVC Due Diligence Analytics team, and Larry Emmons, the lead investor to lead the analysis and answer questions.
While we would prefer to offer this as an in person workshop, in order to support the health and safety of our community, we will host this meeting via the Zoom platform. The conference call details will be shared with you in a separate email after registering for the event. This review will cover all the major due diligence questions such as IP, competition, leadership, funding strategy, exit strategy, use of funds, milestones, etc. The agenda for this Diligence Practicum is as follows:
Company introduction (pitch) - 30 min
Due Diligence Report Review - 90 min
Company Update - 30 min (progress after the report)
Investor Q&A and Interest - 30 min
