Have you ever wondered what it takes to make smart investments in startups, an inherently risky asset class. The answer to this question is complicated. First of all, finding companies that are worth investing in takes a lot of work. The national average for companies that get VC or angel funding in incredibly low. Angel groups help source these deals and bring the companies to a central location. Secondly, making sure that a company is worth investing in takes a lot of time. In fact it has been shown that the probability of getting a positive return on an investment is maximized when close to 40 hours our due diligence are preformed on a company. That is a lot time for one person to preform on one company! This is where angel groups step in. A large group of investors can share in this process and together they can make smarter investments that are much more likely to succeed.

This workshop will be lead by Peter Adams the Executive Director of Rockies Venture Club and he will talk to: the many opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals in Northern Colorado, where to find high quality companies that are raising Angel Capital, and the best practices for angels.
